I had a ride out to Tophill Low today and was particulary interested in the Kingfisher. I had heard that it was hanging around in the North End of the preserve.
I got settled into the Hide and waited.....and waited.
I saw plenty of Dragon flies darting around taking food in the air and was tempted to set up on them, but as they say....keep the faith.
3 Hours later or near to that, the Kingfisher came in and landed pretty much in front of me, it gave me around 15 - 20 minutes of photo shoot time in different positions on various sticks over hanging the pond, but capturing it leaving the water was a good challenge, yet to be made better.
Another great few hours out at Tophill, and with the new ticket machine installed making life simple to swipe your card and get your ticket (members)
